Verticut TT
This dedicated machine brings professional verticutting to every facility.
Regular verticutting has great benefits to turf performance, reducing
the thatch layer, improving the sward and encouraging finer grasses
to flourish.
This encourages healthy growth and increased ball speed in all surfaces
especially golf and bowls.
This increased speed allows mowing at higher clip heights keeping more
leaf on the green – the source of nutrient collection.
Ideal for golf greens, bowls, cricket and ornamental lawns. |

S500 PLUS
The S500 PLUS is ideal for bowls, cricket and golf surfaces and is equally at home on
other turf applications.
The interchangeable heads make this a “two in one” machine.
With the spiker reel fitted, this easy to use machine surface aerates the turf, punching
through that “surface pan” allowing air, water and fertiliser to penetrate to the root zone
resulting in a healthier sward. The 3mm x 20mm wide slots give a massive 3% of holes
on any green.
The slotter head creates ideal seed germination pockets reducing seed wastage and
improving the chances of survival. With the optional seed box attachment, grass
seed is dropped onto the ground at the prescribed rate and brushed into the pockets
enabling mowing and playing to continue without compromising the seeds chances. |

MowerSafe
Ideal for bowls, cricket and golf clubs, local authorities,
schools and private homes, the Mowersafe has been
designed to increase mower security and reduce mower theft.
The Mowersafe prevents a thief from simply rolling away your
machine and coupled with a machine’s weight when loaded
also makes any attempt to carry away the machine extremely
difficult.
The safe also has 4 off 9mm mounting holes allowing it to be
bolted to a solid foundation if available.
Suitable for any make of mower up to 36” cutting width. |

Dennis at R T Machinery
Dennis motor mowers date from about 1922 and have been recognised as quality since these early days. I can't say I was around early enough to use these models but their creditable history and continued quality of build has helped R T Machinery establish a profitable working realtionship with Dennis based on joint customer care and customer satisfaction.
Today's range is perhaps a little more refined, built to meet the high standards of top level sports groundsman and greenkeepers as well as the proud and discerning gardener. Make no mistake, these machines are built to perform and yet to be simple tin operation and maintainance - as the old adage goes - " why fix it if it is'nt broke " Quite simply if we take the best from a long history of manufacturing and continually listen to our customers between us we can perfect design to meet requirement and perhaps just as importantly expectations. If we forget what we have learnt for the sake of production costs and volume it will be a shame - Dennis break the mould in their attitude to quality and customer care. They are good people to work with, they listen and it shows.
RTM and Dennis a partnership based on quality and service.
The world famous Lord’s Cricket Ground dates back to 1787, and in those early days the wicket would be prepared by letting sheep graze on it before a match. Today more sophisticated methods are employed, and the latest machines acquired by Marylebone Cricket Club, the ground’s owner, are precision mowers made by Dennis.
Local dealer RT Machinery (RTM) has recently supplied two Premier 36in (91cm) pedestrian mowers to MCC. These have been modified at the Dennis factory to meet the specific demands of the Lord’s groundstaff, showing the company’s flexibility and expertise.
MCC’s Head Groundsman, Mick Hunt, chose the Premiers after having been impressed by a Dennis FT510 delivered to the Club by RTM in 2004. Part of the FT range, this 51cm (20in) machine accepts quick-change cassettes for different ground care tasks. Lord’s specified the unit with a tungsten tipped verti-cutter attachment and a heavy duty nylon multi-brush unit for preparation and renovation works.
The Premier is a dedicated cylinder mower, designed for excellent balance and manoeuvrability. To meet the exacting standards demanded by ‘the home of cricket’, Dennis engineers have adapted the machines for high-speed cutting and enhanced mobility. An extra-smooth rear roller has been fitted and the handlebars have been adapted, increasing ground clearance and making tight turns easier. This will enable the ground to maintain the highest standards of presentation, with a traditionally crisp, striped finish.
The Premier has a 6-bladed opposed spiral cutting reel, giving 100 cuts/metre (90 cuts/yard). Lord’s has selected manual gearbox versions of the machines to allow for fixed constant speed, precision cut and marking. This is unusual as the hydrostatic option is often the first choice for optimum control. They also chose petrol-engined units for optimum power and response to the throttle control. Dennis can also fit a diesel power unit, and this flexibility shows its ability to meet specific customer requirements.
Lord’s is acknowledged as having the best outfield in the world, as befits the game’s most celebrated ground, and the Dennis machines are helping to ensure these high standards are maintained. Head Groundsman Mick Hunt says, “Dennis and RTM have been extremely accommodating in customising the Dennis machines to meet our specific requirements."
Ian Howard, Managing Director of Dennis, is delighted that Lord’s has been able to buy British designed and built equipment to maintain its world-class standards. “Lord’s recognises that machinery has to be selected carefully if the highest quality is to be achieved. Our investment in skilled staff and modern manufacturing techniques has enabled us to tailor equipment to their specific requirements, and few other manufacturers could have done this.”
